Welcome to your weekly Brew & AI

Each week, I’ll share how to make sense of AI - no jargon, no hype, just simple insights you can actually use.

P.S. - To ensure you receive this newsletter, please move it to the primary tab and set it for all future communications. Or just add this emailid as a known contact. I wish AI could solve this for me.

☕ AI in the news

Here we go again, never a dull moment in the AI race.

ChatGPT 5.2: OpenAI has now officially released its latest AI model, GPT-5.2, after the company-wide “code red” push to accelerate development in response to competition from Google’s Gemini line. The update brings improved reasoning, stronger coding skills, and better long-context handling. It doesn’t seem to be as eye catching as Gemini, and still seems behind the benchmarks set by Claude’s latest Opus model. Seems like OpenAI might be slowly falling off their pedestal. This is one interesting race.

U.S AI regulation push: The U.S. government is moving toward a single national AI regulatory framework, limiting states from creating their own conflicting rules. This aims to reduce compliance chaos for companies and accelerate responsible AI adoption. The outcome: a clearer, more predictable landscape for AI development, deployment, and investment.

NVIDIA in China: This one’s huge. In a major shift in U.S. exports in advanced AI hardware, the Trump administration confirmed that Nvidia will be allowed to sell its H200 GPUs in China, on the condition that the U.S. government will receive 25% of the sales. This move helps NVIDIA and the U.S. preserve revenue streams and maintain influence in one of the world’s largest AI hardware markets.

Disney and AI: Disney is ramping up its internal AI capabilities to enhance content production, reduce costs, and speed up creative workflows. From animation to personalization, AI is becoming core to how the company operates. The outcome: faster content cycles, improved viewer experiences, and a more efficient studio model.
If they maintain this quality, more Disney movies for us, in a much shorter time frame, win-win.

☕ Guides

Here’s guide #2 - How AI works. I’ve covered it earlier in a blog here in case you want to read in more detail.

Save this one and refer to it whenever you come across something you don’t quite understand.

For now these are newsletter exclusive. They’ll be up on the website soon.

How AI models work

☕ This week’s blog

Ever wondered what really happens to your ChatGPT conversations after you hit send?

This piece breaks down where your chats are stored, who (if anyone) can see them, and how long they stick around - minus the legal jargon.
You’ll also learn what controls you actually have and how to use ChatGPT more safely without overthinking it.
Think of it as a practical privacy guide, not a scare story ☕

Hope you like this one - do leave me a like once you’re done reading it, helps me better understand what concepts stick and how to plan ahead.

💛 P.S.

That’s it for this week’s brew.

I’d love to hear what you think - what you liked, what could be better, or what you’d love to see next.
